What is Gestational Surrogacy
Gestational Surrogacy is accomplished through In Vitro Fertilization/Embryo Transfer (“IVF/ET”), a process where eggs are retrieved from the Intended Mother (or donor) and fertilized with the sperm of the Intended Father (or donor). The resulting embryos are transferred into the womb of the Surrogate. After the embryo transfer, the pregnancy is just like any other pregnancy. When the baby is born, the Intended Parents will obtain the parental rights.
Throughout the surrogacy process, Surrogacy Choices ensures that all of the legal, medical, and financial services are maintained and that the Surrogate is receiving the financial support, medical attention, legal advice, and attentive service she is entitled to.
We are continually looking for Surrogates and Intended Parents regardless of your traits or characteristics. Please contact us today for more information on how Surrogacy Choices can help you.

STEP 1: COMPLETE THE APPLICATION
If you meet our basic qualifications, please complete our application. If you prefer, you may also call or email our office for an application by mail. When filling out the application by mail, please include 2 photos of yourself, your insurance policy, and your identification. These will help us complete your profile quickly.
STEP 2: SCREENING AND REVIEW
Your application will be reviewed by our staff. If your application is approved, we will need to review your insurance, your home and social environment, and perform a criminal history check. Our staff will discuss these steps with you and arrange a convenient schedule to have these done.
STEP 3: MATCHING PROCESS
If you are an approved as a Gestational Surrogate we will work to match you with Intended Parents that share your values and preferences for a surrogacy plan. We try to match the needs of both the Surrogate and the Intended Parents. Sometimes you will end up with a new set of lifelong friends and sometimes it will be just a joyous memory of your selfless gift; but we will arrange the surrogacy plan that is right for you. This plan will be put down in writing, with the help of an attorney provided for you, and signed by you and the Intended Parents. This is called the Gestational Surrogacy Agreement.
STEP 4: THE SURROGACY CYCLE
Once you are matched with Intended Parents, you may speak with a psychological counselor for screening, evaluation and clearance. You will meet with a fertility specialist for your physical examination and clearance, and you will discuss the medical process with doctor at the IVF clinic. As with all costs of the surrogacy process, these costs are covered by the Intended Parents.
In working with the IVF or fertility clinic, you will be under the care and supervision of a fertility and surrogacy specialist. That doctor will guide you through the medical process which may involve:**
- Hormone and medication prescriptions;
- Gynecological and reproductive screenings;
- A "mock cycle" to make sure the process will be a healthy one for you and the baby;
- Embryo transfer - which is an outpatient procedure using a small catheter;
- Pregnancy testing;
** Please note the process may vary from one clinic to another.
STEP 6: A SURROGATE PREGNANCY
During the pregnancy, you will have the same medical appointments and prescriptions you had during previous pregnancies. In this pregnancy, however, you will also have the support of Surrogacy Choices, the guaranteed compensation agreed to in your Gestational Surrogacy Agreement, and the supportive relationship with the Intended Parents. It is our mission to make sure that the surrogacy process is a positive and healthy experience for everyone involved.
STEP 7: GIVING THE GIFT OF FAMILY
When the big day approaches, you will be able to rest assured that Surrogacy Choices has made arrangements with hospital and the Intended Parents to make your stay at the hospital a joyous occasion. When you are discharged, you will be able to leave knowing that you have done a wonderful thing for the Intended Parents, yourself, your family, and - most of all - the little bundle of joy who is the answer to to the hopes and dreams of a family who was very lucky they found you!
